The Trend Line is a hockey statistics website and iPhone app built by Alexander Panetta.
No account, no tracking. The app has no sign-in. It contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers, and no behavioural trackers. It does not ask for your location, your contacts, your camera, your photos, or your microphone, and it contains no code that could use them.
What is stored on your device, and only on your device. The app saves a small amount of state locally so it can remember where you left off. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and all of it is deleted when you delete the app:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your followed team | So the app opens on your club instead of asking every time. |
| Your fantasy draft-tracker picks | So a draft in progress survives closing the app. |
| A copy of the statistics themselves, and the date they were last refreshed | So the app works offline and doesn't re-download data that hasn't changed. |
What the app requests when you are online. The app works fully offline from data bundled inside it, and its typefaces are bundled inside it too. There are no advertising networks, no analytics services, and no font or script CDNs.
It contacts exactly one host: trendline.hockey — this
site — to check whether the statistics have been updated, to download them if so, to
fetch a player's full career on demand, and to load player headshots. Player photographs
come from the NHL's public asset servers, but they are fetched through this site
rather than directly, specifically so that no third party ever sees you.
Nothing about you is sent anywhere: no identifier, no profile, no usage history.
The website has no login and no accounts.
How we count visitors. We count visits two ways: Cloudflare, which sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and Google Analytics, which sets a cookie and sends your visit to Google. We never sell anything, run ads, or try to work out who you are.
The graphs on the team, draft and compare pages are drawn by Chart.js, loaded from the
public code CDN cdn.jsdelivr.net, which sets no cookies.
Server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which keeps standard technical logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL) for security and abuse prevention, as essentially every web host does. These are not used to identify or profile readers.
The site publishes an MCP endpoint and open JSON files so AI assistants can read its statistics. These serve hockey data only. They contain no information about any visitor, and requests to them are not linked to any person.
The Trend Line is a general-audience sports statistics tool. The app collects nothing about anyone, of any age. The website does not knowingly collect information from children, and nothing it counts is used to identify any individual.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "last updated" date.
